There’s no handbook on how to get through a pandemic as a college student. Navigating young adulthood already feels like uncharted territory, but add quarantine restrictions, lockdowns, social distancing, isolation, and constant fear of loved ones getting sick, and going to class just got a lot harder, even over Zoom. We need to learn to take care of ourselves when the world feels like it’s crumbling around us.
This illustrated zine walks through my typical day as a college student lucky enough to be living on campus and going to occasional in-person classes during Covid, and what I do to keep myself healthy, hopeful, and semi-productive. My hope is that other students will be able to take some advice if they need it and understand that we’re not alone in feeling overwhelmed trying to do school during a global health crisis—we’re all doing our best, but sometimes we need a reminder to put our own needs first.
